Seekova (the "app") helps you find photos, screenshots and PDFs by the words inside them, tidy chat media, and get files ready for online forms. This page explains what data is used, why, and which parties are involved. The app does not require an account, and we do not run any server that receives your photos, documents or text.

2. Photos, documents and text recognition
Photo access is used to read text in your photos and screenshots with Google ML Kit. Recognition runs on your phone; the recognition model is downloaded once by Google Play services and then works offline. Your photos and the recognized text are never sent to us or to Google. ML Kit may send usage and diagnostic statistics (for example device model, version and performance) to Google, under the ML Kit Terms and the Google Privacy Policy.
On Android 14 and later you can allow access to only some photos; Seekova reads only the photos you allow. Seekova does not request video access. PDFs are read only from folders you pick yourself, and you can remove those folders at any time in Settings.
The document scanner and the ID-photo background remover also use ML Kit through Google Play services and run on your phone.
From the recognized text, Seekova also picks out key numbers (such as booking codes or account numbers) so you can copy them with one tap, and expiry dates on documents (such as a driving licence or passport) for reminders. Both are worked out on your phone. Reminders are local notifications from your phone, sent only if you allow notifications, and can be turned off in Settings.
3. Locked Personal IDs
The Personal IDs shelf can be locked with your fingerprint, face or screen lock. Verification is performed by the Android system; Seekova only receives a "succeeded" or "failed" result and never receives or stores your biometric data. While this shelf is open, screenshots and the recent-apps preview are blocked.
4. Tidying chat media
Seekova compares photo fingerprints (computed on your phone) to find identical photos, and measures sharpness to find blurry photos. No photo is deleted until you select it, and Android asks you to confirm every deletion.
5. Files shared to Seekova
When you share a photo or PDF from another app to Seekova, the file is read only to be processed by the compressor. The result is saved on your phone.
6. Ads (Google AdMob)
The app is free and funded by Google AdMob ads. AdMob may collect the device advertising ID, IP address, device information, ad interactions and diagnostic data to serve and measure ads and to prevent ad fraud; AdMob may also use Android ad APIs (Privacy Sandbox) where available. Ads are never shown on the Personal IDs screens or while you view a file, and the content of your photos or documents is not shared with ad providers. Users in regions that require it are asked for consent through Google's consent form and can change their choice in Settings › Ad privacy choices. 7. Seekova Pro purchase
Seekova Pro is a one-time purchase through Google Play that removes all ads. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play; we never receive your card or payment details. The app only checks the purchase status with Google Play to enable Pro, including when the app is opened again.
8. Storage and security
The search index and settings are stored in the app's internal storage, which only Seekova can read, and are not backed up to the cloud. Data sent to the Google services above is encrypted in transit (HTTPS).
9. Children
The app is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed at children.
10. Your rights and data deletion
Because we do not store your data on any server, you control all data on your phone. You can revoke photo access or PDF folders at any time, and delete result files in Pictures/Seekova and Documents/Seekova. Uninstalling the app deletes the search index, recognized text and all settings. For data processed by Google, see your Google account and ad settings.
11. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when app features change. The effective date above will be updated with every change.
